How to build a giant Sticky Piston in Minecraft

The Sticky Piston block, 16 times bigger: every pixel of its real texture becomes one block. Plan it, gather the exact blocks and build it layer by layer.

Blocks you need

For the hollow build at real size, with 1-block walls. In the builder you can pick other block groups, a different size (½× up to 16×) or a solid build, and the list changes with it.

BlockCount
Cyan Terracotta413 (6 stacks + 29)
Light Gray Concrete191 (2 stacks + 63)
Gray Concrete160 (2 stacks + 32)
Stone143 (2 stacks + 15)
Stripped Jungle Wood93 (1 stack + 29)
Lime Concrete90 (1 stack + 26)
Stripped Spruce Wood49
Light Gray Wool41
Stripped Birch Wood28
Stripped Oak Wood24
Green Concrete23
Lime Terracotta23

…and 5 more kinds of block, listed in the builder.

How to build it

  1. Plan: choose the blocks you have, the size, hollow or solid, and the build direction.
  2. Gather: get the exact block list in stacks and shulker boxes, or download it as a Litematica schematic.
  3. Build: place one layer at a time, with a 3D view and a 2D map of each layer that counts the blocks in every row.
